🐴 Quarterly Horsemanship Clinic #1: "First-Time Horse Ownership" 🐴

Learn the realities of buying and caring for your first horse! 

Are you or your child dreaming of owning a horse? Before taking the leap, join the equine specialists at Buffalo Corral for an honest, in-depth educational seminar! 

This quarterly clinic series is designed to build your knowledge from the ground up, starting with first-time buyer essentials, followed by body language, training techniques, and tack rigging throughout the year. 

📅 Clinic #1 Details 

  • Date: Sunday, October 11, 2026 

  • Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (1300–1500) 

  • Location: Buffalo Corral Riding Stables (Canelo Road, Bldg 13555) 

  • Cost:  $30 per participant (Ages 7+) 

  • $15 per accompanying adult (All youth ages 7–17 must have an accompanying adult present). 

  • Format: Interactive talk, lecture, and Q&A. (Please note: There is no horseback riding involved). 

  • Registration Window: Registration closes Thursday, October 8th.

  • What to realistically expect with your first horse. 

  • Crucial questions to ask sellers, trainers, and vets before buying. 

  • The true cost of ownership (feed, farrier, veterinary care, boarding, tack). 

  • Finding the right horse temperament and discipline for your goals.

  • Quarter 2 (Jan 17, 2027): Equine Body Language & Interaction 

  • Quarter 3 (Apr 18, 2027): Training Principles & Behavior Modification 

  • Quarter 4 (Jul 18, 2027): Tack Fitting, Rigging & Gear Selection 

🛑 General Corral Guidelines 

  • Attire: Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots) are mandatory. Dress for outdoor weather. 

  • Hydration: Bring plenty of water. Outside snacks/food are prohibited in animal areas. 

  • Waiver: Standard liability waiver must be signed upon arrival.
