Mountain View Golf Course


Mountain View Golf Course, on historic Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona, is one of the jewels of southern Arizona golf. With the majestic Huachuca Mountains as a backdrop and namesake, this traditional course is a “must play” for visitors and residents alike.

The course is open to the public. Vehicle/visitor passes are not required. The golf course entrance is located just off Buffalo Soldier Trail at the intersection with Wilcox Drive just south of Fort Huachuca’s Buffalo Soldier Gate, Building 15479. MVGC is an 18-hole championship caliber course with multiple tee combinations measuring from 4300 yards to over 7100 yards. Other facilities include:

  • Fiddler's Green offering bar games, large screen TVs and pub grub (see below).
  • A complete Pro Shop.
  • Driving range, practice green and new practice chipping green. 


    This new Chipping Green is a welcome addition!
  • Golf clubs, pull carts and electric golf carts are available for rent.

 

Fiddler's Green


Fiddler’s Green is now open off the courtyard at Mountain View Golf Course. Offering great food and drinks as well as large screen TVs and fun bar games, Fiddler's Green is the new place go. Open to the public! Call 520-533-7082 with questions.

Active Duty Military rate is based off your current rank,  military ID Card required

A CAC or a Retiree DOD ID card is required.      

Remaining Authorized are contractors that are currently working at Fort Huachuca.                                                                                                                                   

Must have current identification showing your status as a contractor.

Course Description

Mountain View Golf Course is designed so that golfers of any experience or skill level can play an enjoyable round of golf.

  • The Orange and Purple tees are for experienced low-handicap players. 
  • New players or those who perhaps don’t hit the ball as far as the low-handicap players are encouraged to play from the forward tees.
  • When in doubt – Play It Forward!

Dress Code

Shirts
Collared shirts required. Traditional cotton, microfiber or polyester golf shirts; modern-style golf shirts that have a turtleneck-style collar are acceptable. Women's golf tops vary greatly, with or without collars, but all adhere to a traditional sense of modesty. This means no bathing suit tops, tube tops or spaghetti string. T-shirts or tank tops usually are not permitted for men or women.

Pants
Men should wear long pants made of cotton or a polyester blend, or dress shorts with a pleated or flat front. Denim will be permitted as long as they are without holes and are clean. Women also should wear long trousers, capris or dress shorts, or what are called golf skirts. These garments are made with a cut pleat or V-notch on the front or side to allow for motion in the golf swing and include an under short. Cut-off jeans, workout, running, swimming or basketball shorts usually are not permitted for men or women.

Shoes
Golf shoes with soft spikes. Sneakers or running shoes are permitted. Sandals, street shoes and boots are not permitted on most courses.

Hats
Baseball-style hats or visors, for men and women, straw hats of many varieties and what are known as Ben Hogan caps also are permitted. Headwear such as cowboy hats, beanie caps and gag hats are not appropriate.

Any clothing item with derogatory and or degrading words or phrases, profanity of any kind is not allowed.

It is at the golf course staffs discretion to determine appropriate and inappropriate attire.
