🦃 Annual Turkey Trot 5K & 1 Miler 

Earn your stuffing before the big feast!  

Kick off your Thanksgiving morning with Fort Huachuca Sports, Fitness & Aquatics at our Annual Turkey Trot! This festive, family-friendly event is open to all authorized MWR Patrons and features a fully timed 5K paved loop and a casual 1-Mile course. Walkers, joggers, strollers, and furry friends are all welcome! 

📅 Race Day Schedule 

  • Date: Thursday, November 26, 2026 

  • Start Time: 07:00 AM (0700) 

  • Location: Sentinel/Warrior Field, Fort Huachuca  

  • The Courses: 

  • 5K Loop: Fully paved and officially chip-timed! 

  • 1-Mile Loop: Perfect for a quick family walk or run. 

  • Paws on the Course: Leashed dogs are welcome to participate! For safety, dog owners must begin at the rear of the group and are responsible for their pets' behavior. 

🏆 Timing, Divisions & Awards 

The 5K run is a timed event, with official tracking provided at the finish line. 

  • Awards: Trophies/prizes will be awarded to the fastest Male & Female finishers in both the Adult and Youth divisions. 

  • Kids Perks: Every registered child (ages 1–11) who crosses the finish line will receive a commemorative Kids Participation Medal! 🏅 

🎟️ Registration & Pricing 

All registration is online only. No in-person registration will be accepted. 

  • Adult (Ages 18 & above): $20 

  • Youth (Ages 12–17): $15 

  • Kids (Ages 1–11): FREE! (Must still be registered online to participate and receive a medal). 

  • Registration Begins: September 18, 2026 

  • Registration Ends: November 23, 2026

📦 Packet Pick-Up Schedule 

Grab your bib early so you can head straight to the starting line on Thanksgiving morning! 

  • Wednesday, Nov 25: 08:00 AM – 7:00 PM (0800–1900) at Barnes Field House  

  • Race Day (Nov 26): 05:30 AM – 06:45 AM (0530–0645) at Sentinel/Warrior Field  

🛑 Base Access for Off-Post Guests 

Please note this event takes place on the installation. To enter Fort Huachuca, all non-DoD ID cardholders must obtain an installation access pass prior to race day. Passes can be obtained at the Visitor Center located at the Van Deman Gate. (Do not wait until Thanksgiving morning to secure your pass!).
