Learn about Slip Casting Ceramics in this BOSS Life Skills Class on 11 JULY at the Arts & Crafts Center. This class is open to BOSS eligible Soldiers. Space is limited. Call 520-533-2404 to register or drop by Yardley Community Center.
Slipcasting is a ceramic forming technique where liquid clay (called "slip") is poured into an absorbent plaster mold. The plaster draws moisture from the slip, causing a layer of solid clay to build up against the inside walls. The excess liquid is poured out, leaving a perfectly formed hollow object like a bowl, sculpture or teapot.
