The 2023 Domestic Violence Awareness Month campaign encourages the military community to speak up and share information about preventing domestic abuse and supporting those who have experienced it. Awareness month activities in October will inform service providers and leaders of the safe and effective ways to connect victims with support. And they will help family, friends and concerned community members learn how to assist individuals who are in unhealthy relationships. This year’s campaign seeks to support victims with a clear message: If you are experiencing abuse in your relationship, you don't have to face it alone. We have a lot of great activities and opportunities to provide support and learn about services and other resources that are available that our local Fort Huachuca Family Advocacy Program provides.
This year, Fort Huachuca is introducing the theme "No More, Together We Stand." Events include Wear Purple Thursdays, Light The Way, Candlelight Vigil and the Get Moving Virtual 4K. Call (520) 533-8961 for details.
